《中国土壤拟步甲志》共分4卷出版。本卷是首卷，记述中国扁土甲族Leichenini、隐土甲族Idisiini和土甲族Opatrini共3族、22属、150种（亚种），包括4新种和4个中国新记录种。
全书分为总论和分类两大部分。总论部分系统介绍了土壤拟步甲的分类简史、形态特征、研究材料与方法、分类体系、生物学特性与经济意义、系统发育关系和区系分布。分类部分描述了族、亚族、属和种级阶元特征及其分类检索表、标本信息和地理分布等。全书附有特征图约140幅和整体照片107幅。
